July 17, 2026: The Clear Mirror
A mirror is merciless about other faces: it hands you a friend's flaw in one glance. Turned on your own face, the same glass fogs. Wiping it clear and looking anyway, without flinching, without harshness: that is honesty, and it is nearer than any confession. Tonight at the bathroom sink there is one unforced minute for that look.

Overall Frequency
Every tradition owns a mirror, and every one of them reports the same manufacturing defect in its users: we polish the glass for others and fog it for ourselves. The wrongs done to us are engraved; the wrongs done by us are written in mist. The neighbor's speck is catalogued at high resolution while the beam in our own eye goes unlogged. This morning the traditions gather around the mirror, with one assignment: look once, today, without flinching and without the fog.
A Reflection Question
What has looking away from one true thing about myself already cost me?
A Practice for Today
Tonight, write the day in the third person, as if about someone else (today they lost their patience when...), and notice what that small distance shows.
The rest of this day lives in the app: its traditions, its theme, and the fuller set of questions and practices.
Universal Guidance
✦
The mirror does not wound; it only reports. What wounds is meeting, at last, what you carried all along, and even that wound heals cleaner than the fog.
